Raggetti RV5 Violin Outfit in TG Lightweight Case – 1/2 (Including Instrument, Bow and Case) 

The RV5 outfit is a step above the RV2 and is well-suited for intermediate to advanced students. It features higher-grade wood, carefully crafted in the Raggetti workshop in China by builders trained in the traditional Cremonese method. The violin uses close-grained European mountain spruce that is expertly graduated and tuned, paired with a Himalayan maple back that begins to display flame and curl at this level. It is finished with an attractive oil varnish, refined over years to suit the Australian market.

Like most FPS student models, the violin includes a lightweight tailpiece with built-in adjusters for easier tuning. The pegs, fingerboard, chinrest, and endpin are made of ebony and fitted to the instrument. The outfit also offers excellent value by including the popular TG lightweight oblong case and an FPS brazilwood horsehair bow.

For this quality of instrument, a string upgrade is recommended—Pirastro Violino strings are suggested, but consulting your teacher for specific advice is best. Additionally, a luthier might recommend upgrading to a European aged maple bridge depending on your needs.
